| SWR Chamber of Commerce Objectives
The SWR Chamber is the bringing together of Businesses of South West Rocks and District to share ideas and for mutual support. The Chamber has a strong and diverse membership representing a wide spectrum of large and small businesses. The Chamber is run by a volunteer Board of Directors who provide and invite Agenda Items for discussion, organise speakers and provide minutes of meetings to all members.
The Chambers goals include:
Establishing South West Rocks as a tourist destination Promoting members businesses & services locally, regionally and nationally Consolidating regional wealth and prosperity and ensuring sufficient resources and financial capacity for the town.
The Chamber does not provide advice to businesses but will arrange guest speakers on relevant topics and endeavour to source information.
The Chamber is an apolitical, financially independent organisation, providing its members the opportunity to enhance their interests, network for profit and improve the prosperity of the community. The Chamber is dedicated to providing:
Networking Opportunities for SWR Businesses Speakers relevant to SWR Businesses A forum by which discussion can take place on issues affecting businesses within the town Facilitate experts who can provide advice to SWR Businesses A conduit to be able to collect information and disseminate information Lobby/voice/representation/influence Information and Education Promotion and identification of long and short term business opportunities The creation of better opportunities for the business environment Providing members with opportunity to improve their businesses and be a patent lobbyist to protect their interests. Support all businesses as opposed to supporting any individual business Assist in formulating opinion and policy which is representative of all members across the diversity of business types.

SWR Chamber of Commerce & SWR SLSC Markets Meeting
6th December 2006
Present: Bruce Hodge, Rod McDonagh, Rebecca Mitchell, Bob Ryan and Shannon Rogers.
Meeting held to thank Bruce for his hard work and dedication, discuss signage & KSC paperwork.
Bruce keeps a variety of stallholders to ensure contentment. There are approximately 50 stallholders in total. Bruce encourages stallholders to advise him if they cannot make it to the markets. Bruce has discussed markets with local Police. Police say just call & they will be there directly. There is generally an off duty police office in attendance at the markets.
First Aid Whilst SLSC are on patrol in SLS season there will always be a trained first aid officer in attendance. For SLSC phone 6566 6590. In winter the Coastal Patrol was suggested. They are generally in attendance selling raffle tickets. Action Bruce to ask Coastal Patrol if this is an acceptable arrangement. Phone 65666240
Signage - Rod said the Surf Club have 3 old banners we may be able to use for signage, we could paint over existing work.
Action Bob to talk to Kim Hogno re: sign writing.
Action Shannon to send market dates to Angus Green for inclusion in newspaper.
Action Bruce to give the current certificate of currencies to Obsornes pharmacy.
Action Rebecca to copy certificate of currencies and return to Bruce.

The Chamber meets every third Tuesday presently at meeting rooms at the Costa Rica Motel Gregory street SWR AT 6.30 PM interested business operators are always welcome .It is hoped to in the near future hold a quarterly dinner meeting open to members and intending members.
